Michelle Champion
Psychologist

Michelle Champion is a registered psychologist and clinical hypnotist. Her style is warm and focused, non-judgemental, and compassionate and she is dedicated to helping people improve their lives and achieve their lifestyle goals.

Michelle has completed two social science degrees at the University of Waikato, New Zealand: an honours level degree majoring in psychology, and a master’s degree researching a forensic psychology topic. As a keen student Michelle won three university scholarships and an invitation to the Golden Key International Honours Society.

With a curiosity for trauma Michelle began her career, whilst at university, working for eight years in a psychiatric hospital. She then moved from New Zealand to Australia in 2016 to register as a general psychologist with AHPRA and further her trauma focused speciality by working with traumatised youth, as well as working in various private practices treating a variety of presentations. Her career has turned to understanding the power of the subconscious mind, its power over thoughts, mood, behaviour/coping, and hence personality. Michelle has recently completed post graduate training in clinical hypnosis with the Australian Society of Hypnosis.

Michelle can assist clients with a range of problems including anxiety, phobias, trauma, PTSD, depression, weight loss, anger management, grief, stress, emotional problems, personality disorders, and workplace difficulties. She also has experience with risk, emergency services, and conducting NDIS assessments and applications. Michelle is currently studying pain, EFT, and EMDR.

Other special interests include health and fitness, arts, sport, meditation, and trauma-based illnesses, and personal growth.
